Zaichenko Check-Raise Jams With Air

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

A player opened to 450 in middle position, Andrey Zaichenko called on his direct left, and Bryan Campanello three-bet to 1,550 in the hijack seat. Only Zaichenko called.

The dealer fanned {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Zaichenko checked, and Campanello continued for 1,700. Zaichenko moved all in for 5,900, and Campanello made a stink face before calling.

Zaichenko: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}
Campanello: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Zaichenko had a gut-shot straight draw and a backdoor flush draw, but was eliminated when he hit neither. The turn and river came {5-Spades}, {8-Diamonds} respectively, and Campanello now sits with 15,400 chips.

New Table of Death

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We have another potential table of death emerging in the Pavilion room, as Yevgeniy Timoshenko was just moved to a table with Darryll Fish and Danny Suied, AKA "Miami Boss." This is an action table, and it will be interesting to see how these players fare the rest of the night.

Teddy Djmal Demolishes Two Opponents

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

As Teddy Djamal used both hands to haul in a massive pot, his tablemates made sure the following hand was recorded for posterity.

After a player in middle position opened for 400 and two callers came along, the small blind reraised to 1300, leaving only Djamal, the small blind, and another player to see the flop.

With the board reading {6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}, a betting war quickly escalated and all three players were willing to wager it all.

Showdown:

Opponent # 1: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Opponent # 2: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Teddy Djamal: {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

The bear had found the honeypot with his ragged hand, connecting for trip sixes and leaving his opponents with only a single out to share. The turn and river offered no miracles, and Djamar scooped a pot teeming with yellow 1000T chips.

Little New Orleans

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

The 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit concluded last week in New Orleans with the final $1,650 Main Event and the National Championship. Over on Table 374 in the Orange Section we found Luke Graham, the winner of the Main Event, Jonathan Hilton, the winner of the National Championship, and Nicolas Vaca-Rondon, who finished seventh in the National Championship.

Graham and Hilton both earned big six-figure paydays, while Rondon happily turned his free entry into the National Championship into $49,187.

All three players are above the starting stack of 4,500, and are looking to go deep in yet another major event.

Bolotin Gets Outdrawn

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Jamie Armstrong raised to 400, then Alex Bolotin 3-bet to 1,025. The big blind came over the top, shoving all-in for 2,250. Armstrong folded, but Bolotin called and turned over pocket kings. The big blind, looking frustrated, tabled {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The dealer spread {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, which was pretty safe for Bolotin. The turn, however, was a dangerous looking {6-Diamonds}, giving the blind flush outs, and the river was the {a-Clubs}, giving the big blind a pair of aces and the pot.

Tony Dunst Dusted

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We caught the action with the board reading {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Tony Dunst pondering a decision for his tournament life after fellow touring pro Dan Fleyshman put him all-in.

After tanking for a minute or so, Dunst made the call.

Dunst: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Fleyshman: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Dunst mistakenly put Fleyshman on a drawing hand, but the overpair could not be overcome when the river fell {5-Diamonds}. The man they call "Bond18" online exited the tournament area, sneaking away silently like the master spy himself.

Royce Cohen Tanks With Trips, Takes It Down

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

With the board reading {J-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}, WSOP Circuit grinder Bryce Cohen was faced with an all-in bet of 2,600, and he elected to mull his options in methodical fashion.

Asking himself "pocket pair or king-jack," Cohen tanked for a minute or two before plunking a stack of calling chips into the middle. His opponent eagerly reached for his hand and turned over {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for trip jacks, but Cohen calmly revealed the {A-Hearts}{Jc) for trips with top kicker.

As he collected the spoils of victory, Cohen explained his reasoning for the long tank, saying "he could have pocket sevens there" before explaining that his opponent's previous play made it easier to call.
