Tournament Field Could Top 7,000 Entrants

Word has spread throughout the Pavilion that today's inaugural "Millionaire Maker" tournament could draw more than 7,000 entrants. The WSOP staff had initially told reporters that they were prepared for a field of 6,000 runners, so today's massive turnout has caused a few logistical headaches, but as is their habit, those running the tournament have handled the situation with ease.

After waiting for hours in one of the WSOP's longer lines in recent memory, however, the players are understandably not surprised by this news.
