Anderson Gets Caught

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

We came to the table with a flop of {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} on the board and a 2,000 bet in front of Calvin Anderson. His opponent, on Anderson's direct left, called the bet. Anderson continued for 3,500 on the {j-Spades} turn and his opponent again called. Anderson kept to the storyline with a bet of 4,500 on the {8-Hearts} river. Anderson started talking and it looked as if his opponent might fold but after some deliberation, he decided to call.

Anderson tabled {8-}{6-} for a pair of eights on the river while his opponent showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a pair of kings on the flop. Not quite the direction Anderson was hoping to go so late into the day.
