King, Kovalchuk Chop It Up

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Lasell King raised to 25,000 from middle position and Oleksii Kovalchuk called from the big blind. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Kovalchuk checked, King continued with a bet, and Kovalchuk called.

The pot was about 115,000 at that point, and when the {8-Hearts} fell on the turn Kovalchuk promptly made a pot-sized bet. King sat in contemplation for about a minute, then said he was raising all in and Kovalchuk quickly called with just about all of his stack.

Kovalchuk had {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and King {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. The {7-Spades} fell on the river, giving both players the same straight and they split the pot.
