Lunkin Doubles Through Dattani

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Vitaly Lunkin open-raised all in from under the gun for his last 860,000, and it folded around to Umang Dattani in the big blind. Dattani checked his cards, and as he did he actually showed them to Lunkin and the floor ended up being called over as a result.

Dattani explained what he'd done to the floorperson, noting how since he was alone with Lunkin in the hand he was letting Lunkin sweat his hand, but he understood and was ready to accept whatever penalty may come. Indeed, as was explained, Dattani earned a one-round penalty — eight hands, as there is an empty seat at their table — starting with the next hand.

Dattani paused just a moment longer, then said he was calling and tabled his {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Lunkin turned over {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, and the pair shook hands prior to the delivery of the community cards.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Lunkin was still behind, but the {J-Spades} fell on fourth street to pair the Russian's hand. The river was the {7-Diamonds}, and Lunkin doubled up as Dattani stepped away for the next short while.
