Ivey Climbing

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Bill Phillips opened to 7,000 in the cutoff and Phil Ivey called on the button.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Phillips bet 16,000. Ivey raised all in and after a few moments, Phillips called all in for about 67,000 with {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, trailing Ivey's {K-}{J-}. The {8-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river were safe for Ivey to score the elimination.

Denson Passes 500K Mark

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Tyler Denson bet 26,000 on the river after his opponent checked to him on a board of {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}. The player waffled for a bit before calling, and Denson showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for top pair. His opponent couldn't beat it, and Denson took the pot.

Elias Spikes River to Stay Alive

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The hand started with the player under the gun plus one opening to 4,800. He was called by the player in the cutoff, before Darren Elias moved all in for his last 29,500 in chips. The original better then moved all in, forcing the cutoff out of the hand.

Elias: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to see Elias river a ten, doubling up in the process.

Weisner Rising

After an under-the-gun raise to 5,000, and an under-the-gun-plus-one three-bet to 16,000, action fell on Melanie Weisner in middle position. She reraised to 28,000. Play folded all the way back to the three-bettor, and she decided to make the call.

The flop fell small and paired with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. After her opponent checked with roughly 60,000 left in her stack, Weisner fired 18,000. Her opponent folded, and Weisner scooped in the pot to move to 438,000 in chips.

Weisner is another female performing well at this World Series of Poker, doing well here in the Main Event thus far after posting four cashes prior. While Weisner has yet to cash in the WSOP Main Event here in Vegas, she did placed 33rd in the WSOP Europe Main Event in 2011 for €27,500. Weisner has nearly $600,000 in live tournament earnings on her record, and will be looking to make some very big noise here in the grand daddy of them all.

Wow! So Sick!

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

"Wow! So sick!" were the words echoed by a player over on Table 423.

The board read {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and the all-in player had {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for a turned broadway straight and the rivered nut flush.

However it would be his opponent's {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for a straight flush that would see the unfortunate player eliminated after having a straight flush hit on him.

Shulman Sunk

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Jeff Shulman — one of the few players ever to final table the WSOP Main Event twice (finishing seventh in 2000 and ninth in 2009) — has seen his 2013 WSOP ME run unluckily end at the start of Level 13.

Shulman's final hand saw him pick up {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and get into a preflop raising battle with Sami Rustom that ended with Shulman all in for his last 90,000 or so. Alas for Shulman, Rustom had {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}, and when the board ran out {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Shulman was eliminated.

The Last Epp-isode

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

After a player raised to 7,000 preflop, Canadian poker pro Gillian Epp moved all-in for around 40,000. Action folded back around to the original raiser, who called, and the cards went on their backs.

Epp: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}, and Epp collecting her things before heading out of the Amazon Room.
