Ben Cherif Shoves on Glazier

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Rachid Ben Cherif
Rachid Ben Cherif

Rachid Ben Cherif opened the pot to 40,000 only to have Jackie Glazier three-bet next to act in the hi-jack to 75,000. The action returned to Ben Cherif, and he made the call before checking the {6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop.

Glazier slid out a bet of 85,000 and Ben Cherif deliberated for close to two minutes before cutting out a check-raise of 255,000 to put Glazier into the think-tank.

After taking her time, Glazier precisely cut out a three-bet to 410,000 as the ESPN cameras made their way over to film the action that was going down on Table 442.

Ben Cherif checked his hole cards, paused for a few moments, then checked them once again before declaring he was all in. Glazier sighed and began tracing the hand back in her mind before eventually decided to fold to slip to just over 1 million as Ben Cherif climbs to over 2.2 million in chips.

Quick and Painless

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Joshua Smith was the first to act, and he moved all in for 157,000. Brandon Steven called on his direct left, and the rest of the players released their hands.

Smith: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Steven: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Despite being in a featured area within the Amazon Room, no cameras rushed to catch the all-in hand. Instead they allowed the dealer to run out {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} rather quickly, sending Smith to the rail.

"At least it was painless," Smith said with a smile.

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Vivek Rajkumar
Vivek Rajkumar

Emile Petit moves all in 202,000 after action folded to him in the small blind. Rajkumar took a look at his cards, then made the call.

Petit: {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Rajkumar {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Rajkumar was in great shape to score the knockout, but he still asked the dealer for a sweat. Well against his wishes, the dealer put out a dry board of {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades}, giving Rajkumar the knockout and upping him to over a million in the process.

Weiss Has a Plane to Catch

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Matthew Kursar began the day in the basement with less than 10 big blinds, but he's already quadrupled his stack and climbed back into contention. After doubling up on the first hand of the day, Kursar three-bet all-in for 191,000 from middle position. Action folded around to Zachary Weiss in the small blind, and he called all in for 175,000. Marc Emond, who was the original raiser, crunched the numbers in his head for a minute before folding.

Kursar: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Weiss: {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The table looked shocked to see Weiss' hand, and he explained that he had a "plane to catch." At first it looked like he'd have to make new travel plans as the flop rolled out {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, giving him a pair, but Kursar hit the {A-Clubs} on the turn to regain the lead. The {8-Clubs} on the river put a stamp on the hand and sent Weiss off to catch his flight.

Pardo Doubles

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jorge Ufano Pardo moved all in for 150,000 from under the gun, and the action folded to Darryl Ronconi in the big blind, who called.

Pardo: {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Ronconi: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The flop fell {5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}, giving Pardo counterfeit outs, and the {5-Clubs} on the turn gave Pardo the best hand. He improved to tens and nines when the {10-Diamonds} completed the board, doubling to 328,000 chips. Ronconi fell to 1.695 million.

Carlos Mortensen
Carlos Mortensen

Carlos Mortensen doubled up on the very first hand at the secondary feature table. Robin Ylitalo raised to 32,000 from the button, and Carlos Mortensen shoved all in for 302,000 from the big bling. Ylitalo called and turned over {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Mortensen was ahead with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, missing both players, and the 2001 Main Event Champion doubled up with his ace-jack.
