Hand #6: Riess Takes One From Tran

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Michiel Brummelhuis started the hand with the button, and JC Tran raised to 850,000 in middle position. Ryan Riess defended his big blind, the dealer fanned {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and Riess "The Beast" checked. Tran continued for one million, Riess called, and the turn brought a second queen - the {q-Hearts}.

Both players checked.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board, giving both players at least queens and nines with a jack kicker, and both players checked again. Riess showed {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for two pair, queens and jacks, and Tran mucked.
