McPherson More than Doubles

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Jason McPherson, who entered the day with the smallest stack in the room, was all in and at risk with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} on a board of {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Eli Elezra had him at risk with {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and the aces held up when the {8-Clubs} bricked off on the river.

McPherson, who said before the day that the largest tournament he had ever played in prior to this one was a $500 buy-in, more than doubled up to 170,000 chips, while Elezra dropped 530,000.
