Bubble Bursts, We're in the Money!

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

The bubble has burst here in Event #16: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball. It was a remarkably quick bubble period, with an elimination occurring almost immediately after tournament staff making an announcement for each table to hold up and begin hand for hand play. We saw Jeet Shetty throwing on his backpack and exiting the tournament area as the announcement was made that the remaining field is in the money.

Each remaining player is guaranteed a payday of at least $2,767.

Small One For Bojang

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Picking up with the action on the second draw, Ben Yu took one card and his lone opponent, Ismael Bojang, also drew one. Yu checked and Bojang knuckled the table behind.

Both players took one again and Yu checked once more. Bojang led out and Yu tossed forward a call.

"Eighty-six," said Bojang, rolling over {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Yu mucked his hand and Bojang picked up the pot. He's now sitting right around 59,000 while Yu has dropped to 64,000.

We arrived at the table after the first draw to find that Brandon Delnano, Rinat Shakirov, and Naoya Kihara were engaged in a hand that was four-bet pre-draw. On the first draw, Delnano and Shakirov each took one while Kihara opted for two.

Action checked around to Kihara and bet fired out a bet. Delnano called and Shakirov came over the top with a raise. Kihara and Delnano both called.

For the second draw, Delnano took one new card and both Shakirov and Kihara stood pat. Delnano checked, Shakirov bet, and Kihara moved all in for a bit less than two bets. Delnano folded and Shakirov called. Both players stood pat once more for the final draw.

Kihara rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} for a seventy-six but was ultimately bested by Shakirov's wheel - {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Kihara made an exit from the tournament area while Shakirov soared above 115,000.

Delnano, on the other hand, was left with just about 6,000. He was eliminated from play soon after.

A short-stacked Todd Brunson was all in before the draw against Matt Schultz and a third player. On the first draw, Schultz took two, Brunson one, and the third player one. Schultz checked and his opponent cut out a bet. Schultz came over the top with a raise and and opponent folded.

Schultz stood pat on the next two streets while Brunson drew one each time. Schultz rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and Brunson ultimately tabled {Q-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for his final hand. He was eliminated from play and Schultz scooped the pot.

Soon after, Layne Flack was eliminated from the same table.
