Hatcher Chopped Down

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Theresa Hatcher was the next lady to fall. She got it all in preflop with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and there were gasp from the table as she saw she face the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} of Mitchell Lehman as ther had been a succession of kings dealt to player at this table.

The flop was {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and more gasps were heard as it looked like the popular Hatcher would get a double up. The turn {k-Clubs} put an end to that though and as the river {9-Clubs} fell there was a chorus of “Unreal.” as she left the table to head to the pay-out desk.

Gawarecki Gawn

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Tanya Gawarecki shoved her last few big blinds in and the big blind felt he was pretty much getting the price to call.

Gawarecki showed the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and was up against the {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The flush draw was covered and she had the ace.

The cards ran out {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. The turn delivered the killer blow and a dissapointed Gawarecki hit the rail.

Top Two Versus Lower Two Pair

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Richard Lysinger defended his blind with {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and spiked top two pair on the {7-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} flop. He decided to just check-call the continuation bet of Greg Genge and then got it in after the {Q-Spades} turn. Genge tank called with {Q-}{J-} for the lower two pair and could not perform a miracle story anymore with the {2-Clubs} river completing the board.

Costa Finds His Spot

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Peter Costa has a fascinating story and we have only heard a tiny part of it today. After several years away from poker he has suddenly rediscovered his love for the game and this is his first big tournament in a long time.

He hadn’t played a hand for quite a while but just got it in with {q-}{q-} against {a-}{k-} and doubled up.

The Kings Strike Again

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Frederick raised from early position and then called an all in of a short stack with slightly more chips. The shortie showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} but was in terrible shape against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} of Frederick. The {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} board stayed clear and Frederick stacked up mostly stacks of 20 yellow T1000 chips.

Kings Versus Aces Never Gets Old

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Young Ji
Young Ji

It is an old story of the best two starting hands, but a fresh bad beat story for Ji ... Young. He picked up {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} under the gun with a stack of 280,000 and eventually got all of that in pre flop against Michael Wilson on the button. Wilson showed {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} and the {K-Clubs} showed up in the window. The rest of the board ran out {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Young headed to the payout desk.

With that elimination we are also down to the last five tables as well.
