Chipping Up

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Torquay in Devon; We're Up to 87!

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

WSOP bracelet winners Mike Wattel and Bill Chen are the latest two players to join the field.

With their arrival, we are now up to 87 players.

Daniel Arrives in Dazzling Fashion

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu has just entered this tournament with ... a splash of color!

As Negreanu walked from one side of the room to the other to take his seat, everyone's eyes darted to see what Negreanu was wearing ... a sparkly bright purple jacket straight out of the 1970s disco era.

Once Negreanu was settled he played one of his first pots against Roland Israelashvili where Negreanu bet fifth and sixth streets before betting the river dark.

Negreanu: (X-X) / {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} / (X)
Israelashvili: (X-X) / {5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{X-} / (X)

"No choice. 100% bet. I have to bet!" announced Negreanu.

"I read in a book once to always bet dark with this board against your shitty board!" added Negreanu before Israelashvilli folded.

Negreanu tabled his {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} for the third nuts and scooped the pot.

Sebastian Survives

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Sebastian Pauli has just found a double through Jeff Lisandro as both player's boards ran out as follows:

Pauli: {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} / {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} / {5-Hearts}
Lisandro: {4-Spades}{2-Hearts} / {3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} / {3-Diamonds}

Although the German doubled, it was only to 3,500, and he'll need a lot more help to make it to the end of the day.

Pair City Results in Zaichenko Making Perfect Eight

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Andrey Zaichenko (from Event 16)
Andrey Zaichenko (from Event 16)

Catching the action on fourth street we found Brandon Shack-Harris betting out and both Andrey Zaichenko and Jeremy Ausmus calling before Ausmus took the lead on fifth street with both players calling. Sixth street was checked by all three players as each player's board read as follows:

Shack-Harris: (X-X) / {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} / (X)
Zaichenko: (X-X) / {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{A-Hearts} / (X)
Ausmus: (X-X) / {7-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} / (X)

With Shack-Harris' pair of fives the worst hand, he bet out 1,000 only to have Zaichenko raise. Ausmus folded and Shack-Harris called tabling his {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} only to be beaten by Zaichenko's {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a perfect eight.
