Bronshtein Picks Up Some Chips from Negreanu

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Yuval Bronshtein completed and Daniel Negreanu raised to 4,000. Bronshtein called and then bet fourth with Negreanu calling while stating, "I gotta pump my man up, give him some chips!"

This being reference to the fact that Negreanu has Bronshtein on his 25k Fantasy Team. Bronshtein then bet fifth and Negreanu folded while saying, "I can't give you anymore chips, it would look to obvious!"

Bronshtein: (X-X) / {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Negreanu: (X-X) / {7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Bronshtein tabled his {5-Spades}{2-Hearts} as the tabled laughed at Negreanu's responses.

Danzer Value Bets a Queen

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

"I just value bet a queen," George Danzer just told us, as he stepped away from the table for a second.

Danzer was in great spirits and emphasized that he really bet his queen low for value on the river when we asked him if he was serious.

The German mixed game enthusiast went on to give us a super fast explanation on why he bet the queen on the river, and all it did was show us that this man is in full control.

"I don't have many chips so I got to make some things happen," Danzer said with a smile.

Danzer made the final table of last year's $50,000 Poker Players Championship and, despite an average stack, he's one of the favorites to go deep in this one.

Greenstein Falls to Corkins

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Barry Greenstein completed all in for his last 1,500 and both Hoyt Corkins and Jason Matthews called. Corkins bet out on fourth, fifth and sixth street with Matthews eventually giving up on sixth.

Greenstein: (X-X) / {9-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Corkins: (X-X) / {2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Matthews: (X-X) / {3-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Greenstein tabled his {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and drew the {A-Clubs} while Corkins tabled his {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} to scoop the pot and send Greenstein to the rail.

Townsend Makes Wheel to Double

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Wade Townsend (from Day 1)
Wade Townsend (from Day 1)

Wade Townsend had the bring-in, and the action folded round to Daniel Negreanu who completed to 2,000. Townsend raised and Negreanu put him all in for his last 5,700. Townsend called and each player's board ran out as follows:

Negreanu: {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs} / {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} / {2-Diamonds}
Townsend: {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} / {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} / {3-Spades}

With Townsend making a wheel, he doubled through to roughly 13,000 as Negreanu slipped to 73,100 in chips.

Mercier Takes a Chunk From Bleznick

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jason Mercier and Jared Bleznick just got involved in a pot with two nice boards showing, as we picked up the action on fifth street.

Mercier: (X-X) / {6-}{3-}{4-}{Q-} / (X)
Bleznick: (X-X) / {A-}{5-}{3-}{2-} / (X)

On fifth it was Bleznick who bet and Mercier raised it up. Bleznick called and bet himself on sixth street.

"Oh wow," Mercier sighed before reluctantly making the call.

Seventh street was dealt and both players checked. Bleznick showed {2-}{3-}{7-} for a seven-five low but that was not enough against Mercier's {A-}{5-}{Q-} for a six-five low.
