Brunson Looking Strong

Omaha 8

Doyle Brunson has cashed just once at the World Series of Poker since 2009, which was during last year's Main Event. This year, Brunson has played a few events already, and in today's tournament, he's looking good to notch up a cash later tonight.

Brunson raised and Huck Seed immediately tossed in a three-bet from his immediate left. The action folded back to Brunson who called and the flop showed {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Both players checked and Brunson lead out on the {5-Spades} turn. Seed called and on the river the {6-Diamonds} popped up. Brunson bet again and Seed called.

Brunson showed {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for a straight and Seed took down the low part of the pot with {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

More Falling

Level 14

Two more players have just been eliminated with Sabyl Landrum and Alex Dovzhenko hitting the rail.

In the round of stud, Dovzhenko and his short stack of roughly 5,700 were all in against Brian Hastings. And when it was all said and done, it appeared as though Hastings made a straight to eliminate the Russian.

With two empty seats, Shawn Buchanan was moved over. Here are the chip counts for the table:

Omaha 8

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Michael Mizrachi checked over to David Chiu who checked it back. Jonathan Duhamel fired out a bet and Mizrachi instantly came over the top for two bets. Chiu called, Duhamel three-bet, and both players called.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Mizrachi led out again. Chiu called and Duhamel called all in for his last 4,500. The river was the {10-Clubs}, meaning there would be no qualifying low this hand. Both Mizrachi and Chiu checked and each were reluctant to table their hand.

The all-in Duhamel showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for kings and eights. Mizrachi showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for nines and eights before his hand was pulled into the muck. Chiu flashed {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and mucked the rest of his hand. Duhamel survived his all in and now has about 55,000 in chips. Chiu, on the other hand, was left crippled. He was eliminated from play on the next hand.

Limit Hold'em

The action folded to Eric Rodawig in the small blind and when he raised, Shawn Buchanan called. The flop brought out {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Rodawig bet. Buchanan called.

On the turn the {J-Hearts} hit and Rodawig kept firing. This time Buchanan opted to raise and Rodawig tossed in the call. On the river the {9-Diamonds} hit and both players checked.

Rodawig tabled {A-Hearts}{5-Spades} and that was no good against Buchanan's {3-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair of sixes.
