The Chips Are Flying

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

The blinds and limits are quite high, so each pot has the potential to swing fortunes.

In a recent hand, Christopher McHugh raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and then called when John Kabbaj three-bet to 90,000 from the big blind. When the flop came down {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, Kabbaj bet 30,000 and then called when McHugh raised to 60,000.

The {Q-Diamonds} turn saw Kabbaj check-call a bet of 60,000 and then both players checked the {4-Hearts} river. McHugh tabled the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a live-deuce low and trip aces. That was good for 3/4 the pot as McHugh matched his low.

Aces Take It For Keller

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Stud Hi-Low

So far there was barely any action in the seven-card stud orbits. Just now we saw a bigger pot with Thomas Keller betting through to sixth and then him and Joe Tehan checked seventh.

Tehan: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} / {x-} muck
Keller: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} / {Q-Spades}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} / {7-Hearts}

Red Alert For Hastoo

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

John Kabbaj raised to 60,000 from early position and Terrence Hastoo called out of the big blind to see the {5-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop. Both players checked and then Hastoo check-called 60,000 on the {5-Spades} turn. The {9-Hearts} river completed the board and Hastoo quickly check-called the 60,000 of Kabbaj.

"You have me out-kickered?" he asked when the Brit announced trip fives and that was indeed the case.

Hastoo: {3-Spades}{2-}{5-}{6-}
Kabbaj: {5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{K-}

The ace kicker won the pot and Hastoo now needs a miracle very soon.

Joe Tehan Eliminated in 5th Place ($55,451)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Joe Tehan

Omaha Hi-Low

Joe Tehan raised from the button and found a customer in Thomas Keller in the big blind. The {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop turned into a disaster for Tehan as he got the remainder of his stack in with just under four bets and was snap called.

Tehan: {2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Keller: {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Keller had top pair, the nut low and the nut flush draw. The {Q-Hearts} turn saw Tehan drawing slim as he needed to improve to a full house in order to avoid elimination. However, the {J-Spades} river was a blank for him and he has been eliminated in fourth place.

Hastoo Locks Up the Double on the Flop

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

A short-stacked Terrence Hastoo limped from the small blind and then called when John Kabbaj raised to 60,000 from the big. Both players checked the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, and then Kabbaj bet after Hastoo checked the {4-Clubs} turn. Hastoo only had 29,000 back and called it off with the {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for flopped quads. Of course that was good against Kabbaj's {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, and he was pushed the pot after the {10-Hearts} was run out on the river.

Terrence Hastoo Eliminated in 4th Place ($75,713)

Omaha Hi-Low

Action folded to Terrence Hastoo in the small blind and he raised to 60,000. John Kabbaj was in the big and made it 90,000 to go, and then Hastoo four-bet all in for about 10,000 more. Kabbaj called and the cards were tabled.

Hastoo: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Kabbaj: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}

"If I'm going out this is the hand to do it," Hastoo told his rail. Indeed, he held a quality starting hand, but the {j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop was far from ideal; in fact, it have Kabbaj a huge lead with two pair. The {7-Diamonds} turn gave Kabbaj a low draw, and Kabbaj didn't like it.

"High card one time," Kabbaj said. The dealer obliged and put out the {9-Clubs}. Hastoo missed and was sent to the payout desk in fourth place to collect $75,713.
