Something For Everyone -- $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. Set to Start

Tom Schneider, the defending champ
Tom Schneider, the defending champ

Another day, another exciting poker tournament here at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino at the 45th-annual World Series of Poker! Today, sees Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. get underway in approximately one hour, and we are anticipating a large field with some of the best mixed game players in the game taking place.

Last year saw 862 entrants and Tom Schneider would win the first of two H.O.R.S.E. bracelets that he would earn in 2013 taking home $258,960 in the process. Schneider, incidentally, is still one of the 18 players left in Event #25: $2,500 Omaha/Stud Hi-Low that will be playing out today as well.

Prior to that, Ylon Schwartz (2012), Aaron Steury (2011), and Konstantin Puchkov (2010) won this event. Making deep runs last year were Owais Ahmed (2nd), Rep Porter (4th), Frankie O'Dell (5th), Dan Heimiller (10th), David Bach (12th), and Dan Kelly (16th).

For those new to mixed games, H.O.R.S.E. is made up of the following: limit hold'em, limit omaha hi-low eight-or-better, razz, seven-card stud, and seven-card stud hi-low eight-or-better.

The cards will be in the air starting at 12 noon local time. Be sure to check back for updates straight from the tournament room right here on PokerNews!
