A few notable players have conspicuously taken their seats including Phil Ivey at a table that now includes John Monnette, Daniel Negreanu, and bracelet winner Mitch Schock. Also in the field, sitting with severely short stacks, are Jeff Lisandro and Eli Elezra.

Opponent: {X-}{X-}/{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}/{X-}

Jeff Madsen completed on third street and found three callers to join him in seeing one more card. He would bet on fourth street and all three would again call. After pairing kings on fifth street, only one player would call Madsen's wager. Madsen led again on sixth street but this time his opponent raised. Madsen called. Madsen would check on seventh street and his opponent would check behind him showing {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a jack high straight. Madsen mucked his hand and would be down to 3,050 in chips after the hand.

Doug Lee is Allen Kessler's Favorite Charitable Cause

Allen Kessler: {X-}{X-}/{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}/{X-}
Doug Lee: {X-}{X-}/{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}/{X-}

We get to the table on sixth street and Doug Lee has made a bet. Allen Kessler tossed out a call and their last cards were dealt face down. Lee bet again and Kessler grabbed the call, sat it in front of Lee and said "here's another 200 for you."

Lee turned over {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades} for an eight high straight. Kessler moaned a bit about his luck... "I had a royal flush draw," he said, turning over {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for aces and queens. A player at the table cracked a joke and asked Kessler if he would rather hit a royal flush in this tournament or in video poker. Kessler didn't answer but it's probably a safe assumption to say he'd prefer the latter.
