Selbst Wasn't Bluffing This Time

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Vanessa Selbst check-called a bet of 3,000 from Micah Raskin on the {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop before seeing the {Q-Clubs} land on the turn. Selbst checked, Raskin bet 4,000, and Selbst check-raised to 11,100. Raskin called.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Selbst opted to lead for 15,400. Raskin tanked for a bit, then called. Selbst showed the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for two pair, queens and deuces, and Raskin mucked.

"Are you ever bluffing there?" asked Raskin of Selbst after the hand.

"I was in a very similar spot yesterday and was bluffing," Selbst said with a smile. "Jason can attest to that," she added, as Jason Mercier was seated to her direct left.

No High-Fives for Adams

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Tim Adams
Tim Adams

Tim Adams got his last 20,000 or so all in preflop and found himself in a bad spot against Sam Stein.

Adams: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Stein: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Adams was in desperate need of a five for a set, but instead the flop came down {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades} to give Stein a set. Adams needed running cards to stay alive, but the {4-Hearts} turn took away any chance of that happening. The {6-Clubs} was put out on the river for good measure, and then Adams grabbed his backpack and exited out the side door.

Garcia Sends Mercier Packing

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Action folded to a short-stacked Jason Mercier in the small blind, and he raised all in for 8,600 against Jose Garcia's big blind. After some thought, Garcia called with the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and was dominating the {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for Mercier.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, and Mercier was eliminated. Garcia moved to 110,000 in chips.

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Stephen Chidwick check-called a bet of 3,400 on the {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop against one opponent before seeing the {4-Hearts} land on the turn. Chidwick led for 6,500, and his opponent made the call to see the {6-Spades} pair the board on the river. Both players checked.

Chidwick showed the {K-Spades}{5-Hearts} for two pair, sixes and fives, and his opponent mucked his hand.

Peters Finds a Little Luck to Double

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

David Peters moved all in from the hijack for his last 18,900 and Dani Stern called him from the button. The blinds got out of the way and the cards were turned on their backs.

Peters: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Stern: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Peters was in dire straits, but lady luck smiled upon him by delivering him the lead with a king on the {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop. The {10-Clubs} turn gave Stern a straight draw to go with his ace, but the {6-Hearts} river failed to help him. Peters doubled through while Stern was left on a short stack.
