Glantz Leaves Hellmuth Short

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Matt Glantz: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} / {x-}
Phil Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {j-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

Hellmuth and Glantz tangled over this one with the action heating up on fifth as Glantz bet, Hellmuth raised and Glantz called. They both checked sixth street, but when Glantz fired on seventh, Hellmuth made the call.

Glantz showed {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and his set was good, as Hellmuth mucked.

Hellmuth Won't Be the Last Stud Standing

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Phil Hellmuth is gone.
Phil Hellmuth is gone.

Matthew Wood completed with the {8-Hearts} and Phil Hellmuth got all in showing the {3-Hearts}. David Bach, who had the {2-Spades} showing, made the call, and there were two active players headed to fourth. Wood check-called a bet and then check-folded to one on fifth.

Wood: {x-}{x-} / {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds} fold
Hellmuth: {3-Clubs}{9-Spades} / {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Spades} / {9d]
Bach: {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} / {a-Hearts}

Hellmuth began the hand with split threes and ended up making two pair on seventh, but it was no good as Bach had started with rolled-up deuces. Bach ended with a full house, more than enough to send Hellmuth to the rail.

Monnette Sends Ashby Packing

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

We picked up the action on fifth street when John Monnette checked, Richard Ashby bet all in for 4,400, and John Juanda raised. Monnette called and then led out on sixth. Juanda called and then folded to a Monnette bet on seventh.

Monnette: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts} / {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Ashby: {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} / {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Juanda: {x-}{x-} / {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Spades} / {x-} fold

Monnette ended up with a pair of aces, and it was good as Ashby could only muster a pair of eights.

Negreanu vs. Dakake; Sexton & Chen Fall

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

We picked up the action on fourth street when Daniel Negreanu bet and then called a raise from Todd Dakake. Negreanu then check-called a bet on fifth before leading out on sixth. Dakake called and the action repeated itself on seventh.

Negreanu: {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} / {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Dakake: {x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {x-}

Negreanu tabled aces and fours with an 8-7-5-4-A low, which was good enough to scoop as Dakake sent his cards to the muck.

Meanwhile, both Bill Chen and Mike Sexton have been eliminated from the tournament.
