Mierkalns Survives as Bubble Looms

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

There are 75 players remaining meaning we are only three away from making the money. Mark Mierkalns three-bet pre-flop and fired out a bet on the {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop and then put his last 1,300 in on the {J-Diamonds} turn. His lone opponent made the call and turned over {7-}{7-}. He was drawing dead as Mierkalns had {J-}{J-} for a turned set. The river was a meaningless {Q-Clubs} and Mierkalns scored the much needed double up.

Bubble Time!

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

They have paused the action as we are now down to 73 players. We'll play hand-for-hand until we lose one more player.

Ben Yu Eliminated One Short of the Money

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

A short-stacked Ben Yu would get the last of his chips in with {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} against his opponent's {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. The board would run out {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and the tournament director announced that the players were in the money to a small round of applause.
