Welcome to Event #44: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em

Are you ready for another $1,500 buy-in, full-ring, no-limit hold’em event? Today we will kick off WSOP Event #44, the fourth event of its kind so far in this 45th annual World Series of Poker, or fifth if you include the Millionaire Maker special edition.

For $1,500, players will receive 4,500 tournament chips to try to build into a stack that can carry them into Day 2. They will have to survive 11 one-hour levels of play today in order to do so. This is a three-day event, and when a champion is made on Monday, the last player standing will have the privilege of donning a gold WSOP bracelet.

Last year, it was Jared Hamby who bested a field of 2,161 players to win this event. He earned a whopping $525,272 along with collecting his first WSOP bracelet after proving a consistent record of strong results and deep runs in each WSOP over the last few years.

Who will it be this year? We expect a big field with plenty of recognizable names and faces, so follow along here on the PokerNews live update blog to stay up to date on the action.

If you’re playing this event, download the My Stack app and update your chip count throughout the day so your friends and fans can follow your progress.
