"That's So Sick!"

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante
Dennis Phillips
Dennis Phillips

Dennis Phillips is back in business after a very fortunate run out of the board.

Phillips opened to 350 from under the gun, the cutoff called the bet only to see the button squeeze and make it 2,250 to play. The small blind ducked out of the way and Marc Etienne McLaughlin moved all-in for 3,125 in total. Phillips called off the rest of his stack, the cutoff folded and the button called.

McLaughlin: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Phillips: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}
Button: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop improved McLaughlin to a Broadway straight, but both the button and Phillips had outs to chop. The {3-Spades} turn seemed like a blank, but when the {4-Spades} completed the board Phillips had improved to an unlikely flush, busting the button and boosting Phillips' hand massively.

"That's so sick," exclaimed Phillips before noticing us jotting down the details of the hand.

"You're not going to write this up, are you?" Phillips joked.

Of course we are, and here it is in all of it's glory.

Brown Doubles

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

A player opened to 400 and Robert Brown moved all in for 3,250. His opponent would make the call and turn over {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Brown had {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and would need to win a race to stay alive. The board ran out {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Brown doubled up.

Teng Chipping Up

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

The United Kingdom's Andrew Teng has started well and turned his 3,000 starting stack into 7,200.

Teng added to his stack when the cutoff raised to 525 and then folded to Teng's 1,600 three-bet from the big blind. You may recall that Teng finished fourth in the Millionaire Maker for a cool $465,972 and is definitely a force to be reckoned with in this field.

Schwartz Found a Double

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We picked up the action with a board of {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Ylon Schwartz facing a bet of 1,000 from his heads-up opponent. Schwartz moved all in and his opponent made the call.

Schwartz: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Opponent: {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Schwartz was ahead, but had to fade a ton of outs. The board completed {5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Schwartz's straight gave him the double up.

Stout Stacked, Terry Shoving, Gill Gone

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Matt Stout is up to 8,800 and seems to be enjoying himself at the table. Stout is full of confidence following his third place finish in Event #31, a result that netted him $170,247.

At the other end of the chip counts we found Todd Terry who added the blinds and antes to his stack when he open-shoved for 1,450 from under the gun and his raise went uncalled.

Finally, Carter Gill's wait for his second cash of the series continues as he has crashed out of this event during the fourth level.
