Biography
Kara Scott has found success at the poker tables with nearly $700,000 in live tournament cashes but is better known by many as a poker presenter. She has amassed four World Series of Poker cashes including becoming the second woman to ever cash WSOP Main Events in 2008 and 2009.
Intro
Scott was born in 1975 in Alberta, Canada before she moved to the United Kingdom in 1999. A decade later she moved to California in 2009 before moving to Parma, Italy after marrying Italian poker player Giovanni Rizzo in 2013. The couple later moved to Slovenia where they have lived for over a year.
Scott became famous as a presenter not only in poker after getting her kickstart with PokerZone on Sky television in the United Kingdom, but other sports and hobbies. She became the first host of a televised backgammon series dubbed High Stakes Backgammon. In addition to playing poker and being a host, Scott also was well-known for her writing columns at several poker media.
World Series of Poker
Scott’s first World Series of Poker cash came in the 2008 WSOP Main Event when her deep run ended in 104th place for $41,816. She followed this up the following year with another cash in the 2009 WSOP Main Event with a 238th place finish worth $32,963.
In total, Scott has seven World Series of Poker cashes, her last coming in 2014 when she finished in 181st place in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event for $1,872.

Other Achievements
In between Scott’s back to back WSOP Main Event in the money finishes, Scott recorded her biggest cash of them. Scott finished in second place out of a field of 700 entrants to win the Paddy Power Irish Open €3,500 No Limit Hold’em Main Event for €312,600 ($413,612).
Since joining 888poker as an Ambassador, Scott has cashed in three 888Live events with her best cash coming after taking third place in the 888Live Local Series London £220 Main Event in March 2016 for £10,250 ($14,341).
