Serock Hits River to Survive

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Joe Serock
Joe Serock

Joe Serock opened for 6,000 leaving himself about that much behind. It was folded to the player in the small blind who raised pot. The player in the big blind folded and Serock made the call and the hands were turned over:

Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Serock: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

The flop came {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, giving Serock's opponent two pair and a low. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Serock would need a small miracle to stay alive. He would get it with the {8-Hearts}, giving him a better two pair than his opponent to chop the pot.

Mathur Doubles Through Schneider

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Tom Schneider opened to 6,000 in the small blind and Rajeev Mathur called in the big blind. The dealer fanned out a flop of {k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, Schneider led out with a bet 7,000, Mathur raised all in for 9,200, and Schneider tossed in calling chips.

Mathur: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Schneider: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Mathur was in good shape to score the double after flopping a set of queens. The turn {a-Diamonds} gave Schneider a few outs to the river but the {9-Hearts} was not one of them and with no low hand possible, Mathur scooped up the pot.
