Jason Koon

First to act on the button, Jason Koon raised to 10,000. The small blind folded and Margareta Morris called from the big blind.

Morris then led for 8,000 on the {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and then called when Koon raised to 21,500. Both players then checked the {10-Clubs} turn and the {2-Clubs} river. Morris turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and lost to Koon's {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

Hellmuth Forfeits a Bet

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Phil Hellmuth is down to 12 big blinds.
Phil Hellmuth is down to 12 big blinds.

An unusual situation arose at Table 443. Darren Rabinowitz moved all in for 81,500 under the gun, but he only put out 5,500 while he announced the shove. Phil Hellmuth, thinking 5,500 was the current wager, placed 5,500 in the middle without verbalizing a call. The floor was called, and after some discussion, the eventual ruling was that Hellmuth had the option of forfeiting the 5,500 and mucking his hand or calling the all in. Hellmuth chose to give up the 5,500, and everyone else folded, leaving Rabinowitz with the pot.

Alberto Gomez raised to 8,500 from under the gun and Melanie Weisner called from the next seat across. The action then folded around to Phil Hellmuth in the cutoff and he raised to 43,000. Gomez eventually called, but Weisner mucked.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Gomez checked and Hellmuth immediately checked behind. Gomez then led for 28,000 on the {7-Diamonds} turn only to see Hellmuth make it 61,000 to go. Gomez called. Both players checked the {2-Spades}.

Gomez turned the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} onto their backs and Hellmuth mucked.

"F**k! I knew it was queens," said Hellmuth has he stood from his seat. "That one hurt."

It sure did because it robbed Hellmuth of almost half his stack.

Bohn Takes a Big Hit

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A player in early position raised to 9,500, and Blake Bohn three-bet to 26,500 from the next spot. His opponent made the call after some thought, and {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flopped. The first player checked, and Bohn shoved all in for over the pot, putting his opponent to the test for 98,000.

"That's a strange bet," the player said. "Strange bet."

He continued thinking, and Bohn exchanged some banter with him.

"Are you going to slowroll me?" Bohn said.

"I have the best hand."

"Then you're going to slowroll me."

Bohn eventually called the clock, and his opponent made the call with about 20 seconds remaining before his hand was dead.

Bohn: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Bohn jolted out of his chair clutching his head when the dealer burned and turned the {j-Spades}. Adding insult to injury, Bohn's opponent hit both of his outs as the {j-Diamonds} came on the river.
