"The Most Tense Hand I've Had All Tournament"
Scott Clements raised from the cutoff only to have Phil Laak three-bet from the button. The blinds folded and Clements flung out a call. Clements opted to draw three.
"You drew three cards?!" said Laak. "Wow. That changes everything. You've got a lot of work to do here." Laak took one new card.
Clements checked and Laak bet out. Clements called and took one card on the next draw. Laak drew one as well. On this street, Clements decided to lead out. Laak came over the top and Clements flat called to see the final draw. He took one while Laak stood pat.
Clements checked and Laak moved out one final bet.
"Alright, I bet," said Laak. "I hope this isn't a trap."
Clements folded his cards and Laak was pushed the pot.
"Oh my GOD," said Laak with a smile. "That was the most tense hand I've had all tournament!"
Certainly Laak is hoping that many more tense moments are to come, as that will mean a deep run in this prestigious event. He's now sitting just over starting stack with about 31,000 in chips.
