Baxter Bests Rybachenko

Level 14 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Sergey Rybachenko raised from the cutoff and it folded over to Billy Baxter in the small blind. The seven-time WSOP bracelet winner made it three bets to go and Rybachenko was his lone caller.

Baxter pulled one card on the first draw while Rybachenko picked up three new ones. Baxter bet, Rybachenko called, and the two were off to the second draw. Baxter knuckled the table, signifying that he was standing pat. Rybachenko, on the other hand, took one card. Baxter bet on the next street and Rybachenko called.

The same action happened on the final draw and Baxter cut out one more bet. Rybachenko called, rolling over {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Unfortunately for the Russian, Baxter fanned {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-} for a better eight and the win.

Level 14 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Paul Volpe moved all in for 3,500 from late position and Matt Szymaszek called from the big blind. Both players took two cards on the first draw and one on the second. On the final draw, Szymaszek stood pat and Volpe pulled one.

Szymaszek: {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}
Volpe: {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}

Szymaszek made an eighty-seven perfect but Volpe was drawing live heading to the final card. Unfortunately for Volpe, he pulled a second {3-}, giving him a pair and eliminating him from play. Szymaszek raked in the chips and now has about 133,000.

Level 14 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

On the first draw, Shak took three while Elezra and Deng each took two. Shak check-called a bet from Elezra and the three moved to the second draw.

Dang and Shak took two while the reigning triple draw champion stood pat. Once again, Shak check-called. The final draw saw Dang pull one and Shak do the same. Shak opted to lead out on this street and Elezra flung forward a call.

Elezra showed his {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for an eighty-six perfect. Ultimately, though, he was bested by Shak's {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Dang flashed a king to the table and makes a quick exit from the tournament area. Shak pulled in the pot and now sits on about 77,000 in chips.
