Chidwick Ousts a Shorty

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

A player bet a {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, and Stephen Chidwick raised. Another player cold-called, and the bettor called. An {a-Clubs} turned, and the first player checked. Chidwick bet, and the middle-position player went all in. Chidwick called after the first player folded, and he showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-}{3-} for a boat. He improved to a higher full house on the {k-Hearts} river, eliminating one player.

Maria Ho raised under the gun and Scott Abrams immediately three-bet behind her. A player on the button called, and Ho called. The flop brought {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Ho bet her last 600. Abrams raised to 1,200, the player on the button called, and the turn came {j-Clubs}. Abrams bet and was called, and action was the same on {7-Hearts} river.

Abrams showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} for trips with an ace-eight low, while the button had the {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} for an ace-five low. Ho couldn't beat either hand, and she wished the players good luck.

Chino Rheem called a wager from an opponent on a board of {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, and two players folded behind. On the {8-Hearts} river, the player with the betting lead checked to Rheem, who bet. His opponent called, and Rheem indicated he didn't have the winner, mucking after he was shown {q-}{8-} for two pair.

Rheem was near 30,000 a bit ago, but he has about an average stack now.

Boyd Crippled, Stiers Climbing

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

One player was already all in, and Dutch Boyd and Joseph Stiers checked the turn on a board of {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Boyd checked the {8-Diamonds} river, and Stiers bet. Boyd tanked for a bit before folding, saying he couldn't think of anything he could beat, preserving his last 1,600.

Stiers showed {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts} for a straight, besting the short stack who showed {a-}{10-}{3-}{x-} for trips.

At another table, Ben Yu busted out.
