Reiman the Maniac

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Ty Reiman
Ty Reiman

Ty Reiman has a smile on his face and a ton of chips in front of him. By the sounds of things, he is playing a lot of pots and his opponents don’t seem too happy about it. There was a raise from the player in the cutoff to 6,300. The small blind came along.

Reiman raised it up to 20,500. The original raiser didn’t look too happy about it, but folded and the small blind was also incredulous. “You maniac,” he said as he checked his cards again before throwing them in the muck.

Wrong End of Luck for Peters

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

David Peters opened and then called a shove to put a player at risk. Peters turned over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} against the {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the hard way to lose the pot. Layne Flack asked him his name and then commented that Peters had been on the wrong end of some luck from what he’d seen today.

Peters in still in, but now has a below average stack.

Bonavena Makes Hero Call

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

A large preflop pot went four ways to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Ramana Epparla was first to act and checked. Salvatore Bonavena checked behind. Action moved over to a player in late position who bet 12,500. Another player in the hand called and Epparla called as well. Bonavena then raised to 33,000 and action folded back around to Epparla. Epparla thought for a moment before announcing all in. Bonavena took only seconds to make the call.

Bonavena: {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Epparla: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Bonavena had made an excellent read and the dealer dropped the {7-Spades} on the turn. The second spade on the board gave Epparla outs to a flush, but the {k-Clubs} would see him eliminated and Bonavena was pushed the monster pot.

Alexander Now Top Stack

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Matthew Alexander began the day with 127,500. He is now sitting over 300,000. According to Alexander, his biggest pot of the day came when a player four-bet-jammed his three-bet when he was holding {q-}{q-}. He would take down the almost 200,000 chip pot and has been smooth sailing since.
