Tom Marchese Doubles Through Isaac Baron

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

We didn't catch the action but Tom Marchese was all in and at risk with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and facing Isaac Baron and his {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Marchese's set of aces was good enough to secure him a much needed double up to 220,000 in chips. Baron still sits with a comfortable stack of 770,000.

Williams Sends Gryko Packing

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

David Williams put Richard Gryko all in on a {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop, and Gryko called immediately.

Gryko: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Williams: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Williams was behind, but he binked a diamond on the {7-Diamonds} turn to get a flush. An {8-Spades} river was no help to Gryko's two pair.

Tran Induces Top Set to Fold

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

With 70,000 in the pot, JC Tran made a bet on a board of {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board of 40,000. Tran's opponent tanked for nearly three minutes before folding {K-}{K-} face up for a flopped set of kings. There were several straight possibilities but only Tran knows if it was a good fold or bad fold. The grin on his face perhaps left his opponent thinking it was the latter.

Graham Kicks Lacay Out

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Jarred Graham just busted a short-stacked Ludovic Lacay with a turned set of aces. We didn't see Lacay's hand.

Trickett Loses Some

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

With 43,000 already in the pot, Sam Trickett bet 32,000 on the {K-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop after his opponent checked to him. He was called and the two would see the {A-Clubs} turn. This time Trickett would bet 55,000 after it was checked to him and again he was called. Both players would check the {3-Diamonds} river and Trickett would muck after his opponent showed {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} for two pair, aces and kings.

Force Wins Battle of Aces

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Leif Force got it all in preflop against Tom Kearney, who was in the big blind and potted over Force's raise. Both players held aces, but Force made a straight with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} on the {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades} board against Kearney's {a-}{a-}{8-}{9-}.
