Wilke's Slope Ends

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Jesse Wilke tried the one time.
Jesse Wilke tried the one time.

Jesse Wilke was among the chipleaders in the early portions of Day 4, but he just lost the last of his chips to Joshua Atkinson. The two got all in preflop with Wilke holding {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Atkinson {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

"Dealer, I'd like to cash in my one time please," Wilke politely requested.

The board, though, ran out in Atkinson's favor: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

"Good luck, guys," Wilke said immediately upon seeing the {3-Hearts}.

On the bright side, Wilke's one time remains in his back pocket for a future Main Event run.

Vohra Takes One with Flop Raise

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Sergio Muniz, Raj Vohra, and Jeff Madsen were in action on the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. Muniz was first and checked. Then, Vohra checked, and Madsen bet 26,000. After Muniz called, Vohra check-raised to 65,000. Madsen folded, and was left with just over 180,000, and then Muniz followed suit. Vohra picked up the pot and moved to a little over 600,000 in chips.

Flores Flounders

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Luis Flores got his last 114,000 all in preflop and was in bad shape against Michael Labarbera.

Flores: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Labarbera: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The {5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop gave Flores a little help with a queen, but he needed either another or a jack to stay alive. Any hope of that happening disappeared on the turn though after the dealer put out the {K-Diamonds} to give Labarbera trips. The meaningless {5-Spades} was put out on the river for good measure, and then Flores headed to the payout desk to collect $29,400 for his 383rd-place finish.

Mandavia Sends Ramirez Packing

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Picking up with the action on a flop of {4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Juan Ramirez checked over to Ankush Mandavia. Mandavia checked the table back and allowed the {5-Diamonds} to hit the felt on the turn. Ramirez led at the pot for 20,000 and Mandavia came over the top to 65,000 total. Ramirez three-bet all in in reply and Mandavia instantly called for about 290,000.

Mandavia: {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Ramirez: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Ramirez had flopped a set of fours but was ultimately behind Mandavia's turned wheel. Ramirez was drawing live heading to the river, hoping to fill up and stay in play. Unfortunately for Ramirez, the {6-Spades} finished off the board and Mandavia was awarded the pot. Mandavia is now flirting with one million in chips.

Antonio Moreno

Antonio Moreno shoved all in for 127,000 from an early position and was called by Vladimir Shchemelev.

Shchemelev: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Moreno: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Shchemelev flopped his ace when it came {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and the {8-Spades} and {9-Spades} were the final nails in the coffin for Moreno.

As the Crowe Flies

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Kane Kalas checked to Owen Crowe on a flop of {6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and the Canadian tossed out 22,000. Kalas, the son of legendary baseball announcer Harry Kalas, moved all in for effectively 134,000, and Crowe snap-called.

Kalas: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Crowe: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The queens held up as the turn and river bricked {a-Hearts}, {4-Spades} respectively, and Crowe doubled to 318,000 chips. Kalas is still very comfortable with 440,000.

Palmer Hits The Rail

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Ben Palmer just moved all in for about 80,000 chips and Sean Kelly moved all in over the top for just a little bit more. The other players folded and the showdown went as following.

Palmer: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Kelly: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Palmer was knocked out. Kelly's still not out of trouble but his current stack will give him some more room to play.
