Goldberg Busts Goldkind on River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From early position, Cliff Goldkind open-shoved his last 141,000 into the middle and Steven Goldberg moved his last 142,000 into the pot from a few seats over.

Goldkind: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Goldberg: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} to see Goldberg river a better pair and send Goldkind to the rail.

Excuse Me, Flo?

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Florian "Flo" Sighe said out loud that he's playing his first World Series of Poker event, and wouldn't you know he's made it down to the final 350 of this year's Main Event.

On a recent hand, we arrived at the table with a flop of {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} in the middle of the table and a bet of 115,000 in front of Sighe's opponent Artin Ouzenian. Ouzenian had 160,000 behind, and Sighe was in the tank. Sighe said that he really want to put Ouzenian all in, but just couldn't pull the trigger. Eventually, Sighe folded and showed the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for middle set. Ouzenian showed the {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for bottom pair and an open-ended straight flush draw.

Then on the next hand, action folded to Sighe on the button, and he raised to 22,000. John Monnette reraised all in from the big blind for 167,000, and the quickness of his shove got Sighe's attention.

"Such a snap all-in bet," he said, while thinking for a tiny bit.

Sighe then folded, and Monnette won the pot.

Lisawad Just Shy of 2 Million

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Alexios Zervos opened to 22,000 from early position and Pakinai Lisawad defended his big blind to see a {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts} flop.

Zervos continued for 25,000 and Lisawad check-called before the {K-Diamonds} and {K-Hearts} was checked down.

Lisawad tabled his {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Zervos mucked while slipping to 240,000 as Lisawad now sits just a small blind shy of 2 million.

Thomas Tumbles

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

After unknown action, Tom Thomas has been eliminated from one of the secondary tables. The board completed {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, and Bobby Mapp had {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} sitting in front of him. Thomas' hand was in the muck, and he was off to the cage to collect his winnings.

After the knockout, Mapp is up to 1.19 million chips.

River Saves Platt From Elimination

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

[Removed:139], on his way to becoming a politician, has been picking up supporters at the ESPN stage this evening, and they were all cheering him on to a huge double-up moments ago.

Brian Townsend opened to 23,000 from middle position and Juan Rodriguez (cutoff) and Maria Ho (small blind) called. Platt then moved all in for 241,000 from the big blind. Townsend released, and Rodriguez reshoved for 855,000, which prompted a fold from Ho. Cards on their backs:

Platt: {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Rodriguez: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Platt stood up with a big smile on his face as the flop rolled out {K-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}, giving him a pair and the nut flush draw. His rail began calling for a spade, which didn't come on the {J-Diamonds} turn, but the dealer obliged with the {7-Spades} on the river. Platt ran over to his supporters for some high-fives and he was pushed a pot worth 558,000.

Queens for Hougaard

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The board read {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} when we picked up the action as Sean Kelly check-called a bet of 51,000. The river was the {5-Spades} and Kelly checked to Hougaard again who bet 76,000 this time around.

Kelly went into the tank for quite a while but eventually he called and Hougaard quickly tabled {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} to take down this pot.

Here's what the chip counts at this table currently look like after Luis Velador was moved into Jason White's old seat.
