The Jacobson Train Keeps Rolling

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Martin Jacobson seems to be in full control of his table, as he just managed to take another big pot down.

Jacobson raised to 125,000 from the cutoff and Vladimir Bozinovic three-bet from the small blind to 350,000. Jacobson stared down Bozinovic for a bit and eventually he made the call.

The flop brought out {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Bozinovic quickly bet 375,000. Jacobson, who didn't take his eyes off his Serbian opponent, tanked for a bit and eventually he made the call.

On the turn the {10-Spades} hit and Bozinovic threw out another 675,000. Jacobson kept staring Bozinovic down, who didn't make eye contact, and eventually the Swede pushed forward a raise to 1,300,000.

Bozinovic played around with his chips for a bit and looked frustrated when he finally decided to let go of his hand.

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Ryan Fair - 48th Place
Ryan Fair - 48th Place

Ryan Fair raised all in from middle position for 880,000. Scott Palmer called on the button, and then Andoni Larrabe reraised to two million from the big blind. Palmer tanked long and hard, but eventually folded, and it was Fair to take on Larrabe.

Fair had the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and Larrabe the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. The flop, turn, and river ran out {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Fair was eliminated.

Jason Weber Eliminated in 47th Place ($152,025)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Jason Weber - 47th place
Jason Weber - 47th place

Aaron Kaiser raised to 135,000 from the cutoff and Oscar Kemps called from the button. A short-stacked Jason Weber three-bet shoved from the small blind for his last 790,000 and Andrey Zaichenko quickly released his big blind.

One minute passed while Kaiser pondered his action. And then another. And another.

The time piled up while Kaiser tanked for almost five minutes total. Ultimately, he opted to release his hand, putting a decision on Kemps. He announced a call and the hands were turned over.

Kemps: {K-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Weber: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The flop came down {K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, pairing Kemps' king and giving him the lead in the hand. The {7-Diamonds} fell on fourth, meaning Weber needed an ace or a ten on the river to stay alive. The {8-Clubs} finished the board and Weber was eliminated from play. Kemps took down the pot and now has 3.965 million in chips.

10 Milly for Jacobson

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

From the hijack, Martin Jacobson opened to 125,000 and Vladimir Bozinovic called from the button as the dealer dropped a {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop.

Jacobson continued for 175,000 and Bozinovic called to see the {8-Hearts} land on the turn with both players checking.

The river landed the {9-Clubs} and Jacobson bet out 550,000 with Bozinovic folding.

With that pot, Jacobson is now over 10 million in chips.

Vladimir Bozinovic Eliminated in 46th Place ($152,025)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Vladimir Bozinovic - 46th place
Vladimir Bozinovic - 46th place

Vladimir Bozinovic opened to 125,000 and Robert Campbell called from the cutoff along with Peter Placey in the small blind.

The dealer spread a {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop and Placey led out with a 275,000-chip bet which was meant with a raise from Bozinovic to 675,000. Campbell tossed his cards into the muck and Placey asked for a count of Bozinovic's stack. Revealed to be roughly 3 million, Placey moved all in for 3,040,000 and the Serbian instantly called for his 2,965,000 total.

Placey: {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Bozinovic: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

With Bozinovic holding top set and at risk, he would need to fade the flush draw of Placey as the turn landed the {6-Spades}.

"Yes!" screamed Placey while he did a little fist-pump as the dealer dropped the dagger of the {8-Clubs} on the river to send Bozinovic to the rail in 46th place while Placey himself climbed to over 6.5 million in chips.

Matt Waxman Eliminated in 45th Place ($186,388)

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Matt Waxman - 45th Place
Matt Waxman - 45th Place

Matt Waxman moved all in for 950,000 from under the gun, Kyle Keranen called on his direct left, and Eddy Sabat moved all in for 2.57 million in middle position. The action folded back to Keranen, who called.

Waxman: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Keranen: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Sabat: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

There were no surprises as the board came {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, and Sabat shipped a massive pot.

"Yes!" he yelled, jumping out of his seat to go celebrate with his rail. "Yes!"

Waxman simply placed his backpack on, said a few goodbyes, and exited. He'll earn $186,388 for his efforts, making the pay jump, while Sabat soars to nearly 6.3 million chips.

Dinner Break -- Rutter, Lunkin, & Baron Fall While Jacobson Thrives in Level 27

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Level 27 was kind to Martin Jacobson.
Level 27 was kind to Martin Jacobson.

Level 27 has come and gone, which means it's time for the 90-minute dinner break.

During the last level there was plenty of action to be had. Level 27 began with 59 players still in contention, but heading into dinner just 44 remain. The first to fall last level was Stuart Rutter, who ran the {q-Spades}{9-Spades} into the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} of Chris Odle. Rutter failed to improve and was eliminated in 59th place for $124,447. William Cole, who recently did an interview with PokerNews, followed him out the door in 58th place a short time later.

Vitaly Lunkin, Clayton Hamm, Alexios Zervos, Kyung Cha, Trevor Martin, and Isaac Baron would be the next half dozen players to see their 2014 WSOP Main Event dreams come to an end. Baron was eliminated by Christopher Greaves after his {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} was cracked by the latter's {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Baron finished in 52nd place for $150,025.

While many players fell, a few managed to thrive in Level 27. Take Martin Jacobson for example. He first won a big pot off Jason Johnson when he flopped a set with pocket sixes and got paid off by Johnson's kings. Johnson would go on to fall in 51st place. From there, he pushed Vladimir Bozinovic off a big hand to chip up to 9.7 million. Bozinovic would then go on to fall in 46th place for $152,025.

Of course not everyone was so fortunate. Others who took their leave in Level 27 were David Yingling, Chris Odle, Ryan Fair, Jason Weber and Matt Waxman.

Level 28 will get underway after the remaining 44 players have filled their bellies. Until then, check out this video featuring Daniel Sindelar:

Clayton Maguire Eliminated in 44th Place ($186,388)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Clayton Maguire - 44th place
Clayton Maguire - 44th place

From middle position, Clayton Maguire moved all in for 515,000 and Leif Force made the call from the button before Craig McCorkell three-bet to 1,365,000. Force deliberated for a few moments before pushing his cards to the muck.

Maguire: {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}
McCorkell: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

With Maguire needing to spike a king to stay alive, the {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop gave him additional outs to a third seven, but when the {2-Diamonds} and {10-Spades} completed the board on the river, he would be heading to the rail in 44th place for a $186,388 payday.

David Tuthill Eliminated in 43rd Place ($186,388)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
David Tuthill - 43rd place
David Tuthill - 43rd place

David Tuthill shoved into an unopened pot from middle position for 925,000. Luis Velador called in the small blind.

Velador: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Tuthill: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

"Five-six-seven," shouted someone from Tuthill's rail.

"Now, you're just being greedy," Bryan Devonshire laughed. "Ace-nine-eight is way more sporting."

The flop was even better: {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}, giving Tuthill an open-ended straight flush draw and Velador top-top.

"That was so good, we couldn't even think of it," Devonshire said. "Live poker is so rigged."

The {a-Hearts} improved Velador to two pair on the turn. The dealer burned and brought the river card out from the top of the deck: {9-Clubs}, giving Tuthill a mere pair. He knuckled the table in submission.

Michael Finstein Eliminated in 42nd Place ($186,388)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Michael Finstein - 42nd Place
Michael Finstein - 42nd Place

Kyle Keranen raised to 175,000 from under the gun, and Michael Finstein moved all in for an additional 1.22 million out of the cutoff. The action folded back to Keranen, went into the tank.

After two minutes of sitting still and not doing much of anything, Keranen cut out a stack of lavender T100,000 chips, added a few orange T5,000 chips on top, and made the call.

Keranen: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Finstein: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

It was your classic race, and things heated up on a flop of {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Neither player held a heart, but if Finstein made a set of tens then Keranen would take the lead with a Broadway straight. He could also move ahead with an ace or a queen on the turn.

The turn was a queen - the {q-Hearts} - and Keranen was suddenly in front. Finstein was drawing live, needing an ace or a nine to make a straight, but the {2-Spades} bricked off on the river.

Finstein earns $186,388 for his efforts, while Keranen is up to 11.09 million chips.
