Stoic Kurtzman Waits for His Rival's Hand Declared Dead

Level 3 : 75/150, 150 ante

Eric Kurtzman was betting 1,800 on the turn reading {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{A-Hearts} with just over 5,000 already in the pot. His opponent check-called leaving himself about 8,000 behind.

The river came {3-Diamonds} and the action was checked to Kurtzman again. Kurtzman announced he was all-in, covering his rival by roughly 2,000 or so.

It took about three minutes before someone at the table called the clock. The player received 30 seconds to make his decision and an additional five-five second countdown, and he used it all until his hand has been declared dead.

Kurtzman was stoic for the whole time and slowly sent his cards face down towards the dealer.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the player led out again, this time making it 1,700. Yoon called once more.

Both players checked on the {3-Spades} river. The original raiser showed {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs} for top pair, but Yoon turned a set with his {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and he collected the pot.

Le Gets Flushed

Level 3 : 75/150, 150 ante

A player opened under the gun with a raise to 400. Next to act, Nam Le called. Action folded around to the big blind where Bill Klein called.

The flop was {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and all three players checked to see the {3-Spades} on the turn. There, Klein checked. The original raiser bet 600 and only Le called.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and the original raiser bet 2,000. Le thought for a bit, then raised, making it 4,650. The player tanked a bit, then called. Le showed {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for trip queens, but it was no good as his opponent held {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for a rivered flush.
