James Sievers Eliminated in 10th Place ($11,724)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
James Sievers
James Sievers

James Sievers called Jesse Martin's bet on sixth street and had just 6,000 left. Martin bet the end and Sievers said he had to call no matter what.

Martin: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}/{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Sievers: {2-}{3-}/{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Sievers peeled over a {q-} and slammed it down, lamenting his poor luck and saying Martin outdrew him three times.

Remaining players are drawing seats for the final table.

Cha Scoops and Survives

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

PJ Cha put his remaining chips in on the first round with {a-Clubs} and Richard Monroe raised on his left with {7-Hearts}. James Nelson came along and called bets on the next two streets before they checked sixth.

Cha: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Spades}/{x-}
Monroe: {x-}{x-}/{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}/{x-}
Nelson: {x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}/{x-}

They checked again on the end and Cha showed {j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for just his open aces. They were good though, as Monroe had {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts} for kings and Nelson mucked.

Martin Gets "Interesting Runout"

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Five players saw fourth street for the minimum but a Tim Finne bet with {4-Spades}{3-Spades} thinned the field to just he and Jesse Martin, who paired tens on fifth and then got trips on sixth after they checked.

Finne: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Martin: {x-}{x-}/{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Finne smiled and folded to a bet.

"Interesting runout," he said.

Sotiropoulos Doubles with Rolled Up Jacks

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

In a three-bet pot pre, Georgios Sotiropoulos tangled with Peter Brownstein. Sotiropoulos then raised and four-bet shoved on fourth and Brownstein called.

Sotiropoulos showed that he started with a rolled up set of jacks and Brownstein was unable to make more than two pair with no low.

Georgios Sotiropoulos: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} / {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} / {A-Spades}
Peter Brownstein: {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts} / {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} / {A-Hearts}

Sotiropoulos stack was counted at 174,000 so he vaulted to roughly 400,000 with his double.

PJ Cha Eliminated in 9th Place ($11,724)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
PJ Cha
PJ Cha

PJ Cha completed with the {5-Spades} and got a ton of action. James Nelson called with the {j-Spades}, Benjamin Dobson raised with the {a-Spades}, Tim Finne called with the {k-Clubs} and Cha called. He got the last 20,000 or so in on fourth, and Dobson bet fifth but ceded the betting lead to Finne when the latter made open kings on sixth.

Dobson: {x-}{x-}/{a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Finne: {x-}{x-}/{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Cha: {x-}{x-}/{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Nelson: {x-}{x-}/{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Nelson finally gave up his hand but Dobson stuck around. Finne bet again on the end and Dobson called with {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a seven-low. Dobson had {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for quads and we didn't see Cha's hand but he couldn't beat anyone so he headed out in ninth.

Aces Up for McCormick

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Tom McCormick: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} / {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}
Peter Brownstein: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Peter Brownstein called and Tom McCormick completed. Bring-in James Nelson joined the contest and Brownstein called as well. McCormick bet on fourth to get rid of Nelson but Brownstein stuck around.

McCormick barreled on fifth and Brownstein called again before catching a pair of sixes on sixth, which was checked. McCormick placed in one more shell on the river and Brownstein paid him off and mucked after he heard: "Aces up."

Peter Brownstein Eliminated in 8th Place ($15,271)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Peter Brownstein
Peter Brownstein

Richard Monroe bet fourth street into two opponents with {2-Spades}{k-Hearts} and both called. Monroe bet again on fifth and James Nelson tanked and mucked but Peter Brownstein raised his last 24,000 and Monroe called.

Monroe: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}/{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Nelson: {x-}{x-}/{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs} (folded on fifth street)
Brownstein: {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}/{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Brownstein was up against a set of kings but had a nice draw with a gutter and four to a low. The {4-Hearts} gave him outs for high if Monroe didn't fill up on the river after getting the {q-Clubs} on sixth. Brownstein squeezed out his last card.

"You win," he said, leaving what would turn out to be the {j-Clubs} face down.

Monroe filled up with the {q-Hearts} for good measure.
