Tom McCormick Eliminated in 5th Place ($37,504)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Tom McCormick
Tom McCormick

Tom McCormick had only 40,000 left and he was dealt the {2-Clubs}. McCormick placed all his chips in front of him and Richard Monroe isolated with a raise. Nobody else joined and McCormick raced for his tournament life.

Tom McCormick: {J-Hearts}{3-Spades} / {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} / {6-Clubs}
Richard Monroe: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {10-Hearts}

Monroe started with buried kings and improved to aces up on the way. McCormick couldn't make anything but queen-high and bowed out in fifth place.

"I'm now 0 for 15 on final tables for bracelets," he said before shaking hands with each of the remaining players.

Monroe into the Lead

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Three players saw fifth after checking fourth and Richard Monroe bet into them with open queens. Benjamin Dobson mucked but Jesse Martin tanked about a minute and then continued. He called again on sixth and they went to seventh.

Dobson: {x-}{x-}/{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} (folded on fifth street)
Martin: {x-}{x-}/{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}/{x-}
Monroe: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}

Martin folded to the final bet and Monroe moved into the chip lead.

Dobson Has a Hidden Boat

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Benjamin Dobson: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Jesse Martin: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Jesse Martin was betting on fourth and fifth streets, earning calls from Benjamin Dobson. Martin's board hit fourth card to a straight on sixth but he checked.

Dobson then fired on the river and Martin called. Dobson showed {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a full house and Martin failed to make a low, conceding the full pot to his opponent.

Finne Scoops Martin

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Jesse Martin put pressure on Tim Finne in last position, raising his bring-in. However, Finne had picked up two low cards and then a pair of fours and held the betting lead through fifth. Both checked sixth.

Martin: {x-}{x-}/{8-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}/{x-}
Finne: {x-}{x-}/{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}/{x-}

Martin thought a bit and bet seventh, with Finne following him in with a quick call.

"Pair of eights," Martin announced.

Finne rolled {9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} over to scoop it with nines up.

Martin Makes a Flush

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Jesse Martin: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Richard Monroe: {X-}{X-} / {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} / {X-}
Benjamin Dobson: {X-}{X-} / {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} - folded on sixth

Benjamin Dobson completed, Jesse Martin called and they both called when Richard Monroe raised.

Monroe barreled the next three streets and Martin called on all of them. Dobson called on fourth and fifth but he saw Monroe pair his jack on sixth while Martin's board showed four low cards, so he thought it was the right time to give up.

Martin then fired on the river, having made a flush. He got one more bet from Monroe as he called.

"Dammit, I folded a low," Dobson said when he saw the showdown.

Monroe Has Everything

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Richard Monroe: {X-}{X-} / {5-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Benjamin Dobson: {X-}{X-} / {6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} - fold
Jesse Martin: {X-}{X-} / {7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades} - fold

Richard Monroe raised it up after Benjamin Dobson completed and Jesse Martin called. Both of them called the raise and Dobson led out on fourth where all players hit high cards. Martin called but Monroe raised, earning two calls.

Fifth street saw Monroe pair his five and he bet again. Dobson mucked his hand and Martin eventually released his cards as well.

Dobson was trying to find out what Monroe had and Monroe replies: "I had everything!"

Finne Under Four Bets

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Tim Finne has entered the majority of the pots since the players came back from the break. But he's been getting dealt bad cards on fourth street, resulting in lots of Finne's folds.

Finne is now down to just 410,000 and will soon have to make a move to keep his stack afloat.
