Baumann Calls Correctly

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Gaelle Baumann opened to 900 from the cutoff and was called by the small blind and the big blind. The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and the action checked around to the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

The small blind led out for 1,100 and the big blind folded. Baumann called and the {6-Spades} completed the board. The small blind fired another 2,200 and Baumann picked up her chips to call, but didn't do so right away. She thought for a minute and then eventually tossed her chips in the middle. Her opponent tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a missed straight draw and Baumann showed {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of nines.

"I Want a Piece of That"

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Bill Klein
Bill Klein

The action folded to the cutoff who raised it up to 800. Bill Klein was in the big blind and appeared to have a bit of history with his opponent.

"I'm calling no matter what I have against you. I want a piece of that!"

Klein did in fact call and the flop came {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Klein checked and his opponent tossed in a continuation bet of 1,300. Klein instantly check-raised to 3,000 and made sure his opponent was aware of it. He elected to fold and Klein raked in the pot to sit among the leaders.

Phelps Hits the Showers

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante
Michael Phelps
Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps was living on a short stack after the last break and after another pass by his table, he was seen missing from his seat. According to the table, Phelps jammed all in for 4,500 from under the gun and was called by the big blind.

Michael Phelps: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Phelps was slightly behind but still had two live cards to hit in order to find a double up. Unfortunately for him, the flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and his opponent flopped a flush. Phelps was left drawing dead and headed to the rail.
