Straight Flush Crushes Nut Flush

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

In a hand relayed to the PokerNews team by Eyal Bensimhon via social media, he said he opened to 375 from middle position with queen-jack of spades. Two callers on the button and big blind came along to the {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop.

Bensimhon continued his betting after the big blind checked, with a bet to 600. The button raised to 1,500 and action folded back to Bensimhon who raised again to 3,900 with the gutshot straight flush draw.

The button called to see {9-Spades} on the turn, completing the straight flush for Bensimhon. He checked, only to see the big blind shove his stack for about 6,000. Bensimhon called excitedly, screaming "Straight flush!" as he revealed his cards. His opponent rolled over {A-Spades}{4-Spades} for the defeated nut flush.

The pot brought Bensimhon up to 35,000 chips.

Higher Straight Flush for Zverkhovskyy

Level 4 : 75/150, 25 ante

The player in middle position raised to 250. Artem Zverkhovskyy, in the small blind, called, along with Lisa Fleishman, in the big blind.

The flop was {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Zverkhovskyy and Fleishman checked. The original raiser continued for 500. Both his opponents called.

The turn came the {q-Diamonds}. Zverkhovskyy and Fleishmann checked again. The original raiser continued for 1,900. Zverkhoskyy and Fleishmann called.

The {5-Diamonds} river completed the board. Zverkhovskyy and Fleishmann checked for a third time. The original raiser moved all in for 6,000. Zverkhovskyy reshoved for 15,000. Fleishmann called, putting at risk her last 7,000. The original raiser showed {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Fleishman tabled {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Zverkhovskyy revealed {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a higher straight flush to take it down, sending his opponents to the rail.

Off to the Races

Level 4 : 75/150, 25 ante

There was a lot of interest in the hand preflop but in the end, it came down to just two players who were willing to stake it all on their hands. There was a 400 raise, a flat and another flat by James Akenhead on the button before the big blind squeezed to 2,000. This got the initial raiser out of the way but not Robert Peacock, who moved all-in. James Akenhead quickly folded and the big blind made the call.

Peacock was flipping with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} against {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} as the dealer took them to the flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The diamond flop didn't change much but the {7-Spades} turn did, bringing four straight outs that would give the two players a chop. The {10-Diamonds} river bricked though and Peacocks pair of queens is enough to win the 14,800 pot.
