Big-O

Scotter Clark raised to 15,000 from early position and Ryan Hughes called on the button. They got the rest of the money into the pot when the {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop landed.

Scotter Clark: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Ryan Hughes: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

The remaining cards on the board gave Hughes full house and he dispatched Clark in 19th place.

Omaha-8

There was a {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop and Ryan Hughes checked to Carol Fuchs. Fuchs bet and got called by Scotter Clark and Hughes. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} the flop action was repeated. Hughes checked, Fuchs bet, and Clark and Hughes called.

The river was the {8-Diamonds} and this time it checked to Clark who bet. Hughes folded, but Fuchs called.

Carol Fuchs: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Scotter Clark: {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Fuchs chopped the low pot, but she won the high pot with her pair of aces.

Christopher Carey: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Jon Turner: {10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The runout {8-Clubs} and {4-Spades} favored Turner whose aces up with a king kicker eliminated Carey from contention.

Gregoire Hits a Miracle One-Outer

Level 22 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

We weren't near the table when the following hand played out, but the shouts across the Miranda ballroom have been very clear: Some cruel bad beat must have happened.

"Yes!" Matthew Gregoire shouted.

"Goddammit!" Eddie Blumenthal countered.

We were informed that it was a set-over-set confrontation where Gregoire was on the wrong side. However, the river changed everything as he caught his one-outer, hitting quads to stay alive.

When we approached the table, the chips have already been shipped to Gregoire who has his hand turned up, the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{X-} next to the board of {J-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Blumenthal's hand was already in the muck but it was obvious that he held aces.

Barraclough Finds a Double

Level 22 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Big-O

Jeffrey Vaughn limped in and Jon Turner completed in the small blind. Big blind David Barraclough then potted for 24,000 and only Vaughn called.

Barraclough bet the max on the {3-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop and Vaughn called once again, paying the 54,000. Barraclough moved all in for his remainder on the {5-Clubs} turn and Vaughn immediately called.

But Barraclough had already locked up the whole pot, turning up {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

"Oh, you got me," Vaughn said, realizing that his {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} was drawing dead. The river fell {9-Clubs} to make things official and Barraclough doubled his 119,000.
