Vampan Doubles Through Hunichen

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Daniel Vampan double up
Daniel Vampan double up

In one of the last hands at the previous blind level Chris Hunichen raised to 8,000 from the cutoff. It folded to Daniel Vampan in the big blind and he moved all-in for 75,500. Hunichen called turning over {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and Vampan showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The dealer fanned the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop giving Vampan top pair and Hunichen picked up a gutshot straight draw to go along with his over cards. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the {2-Clubs} hit the river to earn Vampan the pot and the double-up.

Brokos Extending His Lead

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Andrew Brokos
Andrew Brokos

Andrew Brokos just took a big pot from Jacob Naumann on a board reading {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Brokos bet 114,500 on the river and Naumann called. Brokos turned over his {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for the nut straight and another big pot was shipped Brokos' way.

He is now up to 635,000 and has extended his chip lead as we approach the dinner break.
