Bigger Straight for Petrangelo

Level 1 : 1,000/1,000, 1,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo raised to 2,500 from middle position and Talal Shakerchi three-bet to 7,000 directly to his left. The action folded back to Petrangelo who made the call as the flop fell {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Petrangelo check-called a bet of 8,000 from Shakerchi and the {10-Clubs} landed on the turn. Both players checked and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board. Petrangelo checked again and Shakerchi tossed in a bet of 17,000. Petrangelo instantly called and Shakerchi showed an eight for the lower end of a straight. Petrangelo flipped over {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a larger straight and took down the pot.
