Buckley Nearly Triples on the Bubble

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

William Buckley completed with his {A-} and Steve Chanthabouasy called. Rodrigo Garrido Portaleoni made it two bets and Buckley and Chathabouasy both called.

William Buckley: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{9-}{8-}{7-}/{x-}
Steve Chanthabouasy: {x-}{x-}/{3-}{5-}{a-}{J-}/{x-}
Rodrigo Garrido Portaleoni: {x-}{x-}/{4-}{Q-}{7-}{q-}/{x-}

Chanthabouasy bet on fourth street and both players called. Chanthabouasy bet again on fifth street and both players called again.

On sixth street, Buckley was fist to act and he led out quickly. Both of his opponents called.

All three players checked on seventh. Buckley showed his {2-}{3-}{3-} for an eight-seven low. Chanthabouasy flashed his {5-}{6-} and Portaleoni just mucked. Buckley who committed nearly all of his chips got a nearly triple up in the hand right before the bubble.

Bubble Bursts; First Eliminations in the Money

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante
Brandon Cantu
Brandon Cantu

After the elimination of Rebecca Kerl, players and dealers were instructed to finish the hand they were on and hold up.

As these hands were concluding, there was an elimination. Ognjen Sekularac got his last chips in against Ronald Schiffman but the runout was less than kind.

Ognjen Sekularac: {2-}{4-} / {3-}{4-}{4-}{3-} / {k-}
Ronald Schiffman: {a-}{5-} / {6-}{6-}{7-}{8-} / {k-}

Sekularac waited at the tables as the floor staff counted the empty seats to confirm, only to find out that Kerl was the bubble and Sekularac was the first elimination in the money. Meanwhile, there was another hand, with Brandon Cantu waiting with a decision on seventh street facing a bet.

Brandon Cantu: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{5-}{j-}{9-} / {x-}
Thomas Taylor: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{4-}{4-}{2-} / {x-}

After realising that they were the last hand, and there was already an elimination in the money, Cantu called with {3-}{4-}{8-} but was met by the wheel of Taylor {a-}{3-}{6-} and was eliminated.

Urbanovich Sends Barbieri to the Payout Desk

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Dzmitry Urbanovich completed and next to act Al Barbieri made it two bets. John Beringer called, as did Urbanovich.

Dzmitry Urbanovich: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{9-}{10-}{Q-}/{x-}
Al Barbieri: {x-}{x-}/{6-}{6-}{9-}{9-}/{x-}
John Beringer: {x-}{x-}/{7-}{4-}{J-} - fold on fifth

On fourth street, Beringer bet and both Urbanovich and Barbieri called. On fifth street, Urbanovich had the lead, but Barbieri bet out of turn. Urbanovich then checked so Barbieri's bet stood. Beringer folded but Urbanovich called.

On sixth, Urbanovich checked. Barbieri bet and Urbanovich check-raised. It was enough to put Barbieri in for his tournament life and he called.

"Will you flip first so I can see what I got?" Barbieri ask. Urbanovich nodded in agreement.

Urbanovich held {3-}{5-} under while Barbieri had {2-}{7-}. Urbanovich flipped his final {2-} making a nine-five low and Barbieri turned up his {A-}.

"I made it!" Barbieri said pulling back his chips. But he was wrong. Actually, he had only made a nine-seven low. Urbanovich was best with his nine-five and he scooped the pot.
