Mike Matusow

Bruno Fitoussi limped under the gun and Mike Matusow three-bet shoved for 230,000. Eli Elezra flatted but folded when Fitoussi four-bet pot.

Mike Matusow: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Bruno Fitoussi: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Fitoussi made the nuts on both sides. Matusow was eliminated in fourth place and received $75.708.

Couden Drags a Monster Pot with Flush over Flush

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Joey Couden raised to 180,000 in the cutoff and only small blind Mike Matusow called.

The {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop was checked by both players but Couden fired 300,000 on the {8-Hearts} turn. Matusow cut out calling chips and put them in front of him.

Couden fired again when the {Q-Clubs} hit the river, announcing a bet of 775,000. Matusow took about a minute and then called.

"Nut flush," Couden quickly declared, exposing {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the nuts. Matusow said he had a queen-high flush and dropped to about 230,000 while Couden sky-rocketed to 3.4 million.

Elezra and Matusow Chop it Up

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow opened to 200,000 under the gun and Eli Elezra called on the button. A {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop fanned out and both players checked. The {8-Diamonds} arrived on the turn and Matusow check-called a bet of 520,000.

The {j-Diamonds} completed the board and Matusow check-called an all-in shove from Elezra to put Elezra at risk. The pot got chopped up when Elezra turned over the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Matusow tabled the {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Matusow Fades Low Cards

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Joey Couden raised to 180,000 and moved all in after Mike Matusow potted. Matusow immediately called.

Both players had been dealt aces but Couden was drawing to a better low with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} versus {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Couden had a chance to seize a chunk from Matusow when the {6-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop appeared but the {4-Hearts} paired the board.

"Paint," Matusow hoped and the dealer obliged, pulling out the {K-Hearts} river.

"I'll take it!" Matusow celebrated the chop as he escaped any damage. Both players took their chips back and the play carried on.

Christopher Conrad Eliminated in 5th Place ($54,738)

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Christopher Conrad
Christopher Conrad

Chris Conrad raised pot under the gun and Eli Elezra double-raised to 480,000. It folded back to Conrad who called all in for roughly 450,000 total:

Chris Conrad: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Eli Elezra: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The dealer rolled over a board of {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} and neither of the players improved their starting combination.

"Two fives, baby," Elezra celebrated, knowing that he just busted another player from the final table. Christopher Conrad took home $54,738 for his fifth-place finish.

Fitoussi Takes a Chunk from Conrad

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Chris Conrad opened to 200,000 from the cutoff and Bruno Fitoussi defended his big blind. The flop came down {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} and both players checked to bring the {j-Diamonds} on the turn.

Both checked again and the {4-Clubs} peeled off on the river. Fitoussi checked, Conrad bet 120,000, Fitoussi raised to 325,000 and Conrad made the call.

Fitoussi tabled the {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a full house and Conrad mucked.

Matusow Takes from Conrad

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow raised to 175,000 in the small blind and Christopher Conrad accepted the price.

They checked the flop and turn of the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} board and Matusow fired 150,000 on the river. Conrad called but Matusow had him scooped with {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Conrad flashed {A-}{6-} and mucked the rest of his hand.

Fitoussi Barrels the River

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Bruno Fitoussi raised to 150,000 out of the small blind and Mike Matusow called in the big before they checked the {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop.

Fitoussi fired 200,000 when the {7-Hearts} turn landed and Matusow quickly called.

The river was the {K-Hearts}, filling a backdoor flush draw and Fitoussi slid in a pile of 25,000-chips, making it 500,000.

Matusow tanked for almost two minutes and then decided to throw his cards into the muck.
