Stockfish Can't Call

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Jason Stockfish raised to 26,000 from middle position, Nathan Gamble three-bet to 93,000 from the hijack, and Stockfish called.

The flop came {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Stockfish checked. Gamble bet 100,000, sending Stockfish into the tank. After about a minute, he ultimately folded and Gamble took the pot to chip up.

"Could have gotten it in pre," Stockfish said as Gamble stacked his newly-acquired chips.

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Lee Watkinson
Lee Watkinson

Action folded around to the blinds and Lee Watkinson raised from the small. Jason Stockfish three-bet from the big and Watkinson called to put himself at risk.

Lee Watkinson: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Jason Stockfish: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

Stockfish had the preflop advantage and Watkinson needed to improve to survive. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Stockfish scooped with aces up and a live deuce to end Watkinson's tournament.

Yockey Eliminates Guagenti

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

On the flop of {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Bryce Yockey shoved over Nick Guagenti's 55,000-bet and Guagenti called. Yockey had 165,000 total and Guagenti was slightly covered.

Bryce Yockey: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Guagenti: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-}{2-}

The {8-Diamonds} turn and {9-Hearts} river favored Yockey who finished with a straight while Guagenti missed his nut low draw. He was eliminated in 28th place and the tournament staff halted further action as the remaining players were redrawn to the last three tables.

Grinkevich Eliminates Levi

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Anton Grinkevich raised from the button and David Levi moved his short stack into the middle from the small blind. Grinkevich called to put Levi at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Anton Grinkevich: {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}
David Levi: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Levi had the preflop advantage and Grinkevich needed to improve in order to win the pot. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} to give Grinkevich queens up, so he took the pot to send Levi to the cage.

Negreanu Cracks Mankin's Aces

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu was in the big blind, facing Erle Mankin's pot-sized raise out of the hijack. Negreanu called the extra 20,000 and then potted the {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop for 60,000. Mankin had fewer than that behind and called for all his chips.

Negreanu had {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a wrap and Mankin opened {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The {Q-Hearts} turn gave Negreanu a straight and Mankin needed a ten to outdraw him with a Broadway. The river card was the {Q-Spades} and Negreanu finished with queens full of eights, eliminating Mankin short of the last three tables.

Negreanu Calls for Jack or a Ten, Can't Squeeze More than a Chop

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Mihails Morozovs potted from an early position and Daniel Negreanu pushed all in for about 75,000 in the hijack. Morozovs called and they learned that they held very similar hands.

Morozovs: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Negreanu: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

The dealer rolled over the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{A-Clubs} flop, followed by the {K-Hearts} turn.

"Jack or a ten!" Negreanu cheered, trying to inspire the dealer to provide a scooper.

But the {3-Diamonds} appeared instead and Morozovs and Negreanu chopped the blinds.
