Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

On a raised pot, the board was reading {10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} when Alex Keating made a bet worth 20,000 from the small blind position. Michael Gathy tanked for some time and opted to make the call.

Keating tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, but starting laughing when Gathy turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for the higher pair and mucked his hand.

Ruane Goes for Value on the River

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Ruane
Michael Ruane

Michael Ruane spent Day 1 flying under the radar, but he has been building a nice stack in front of him. He won another pot just now where he raised from the button to 4,500 and the player in the big blind called him.

The flop was {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and the player in the big blind check-called a bet of 7,000. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked. The player in the big blind checked to Ruane again on the {K-Hearts} river and Ruane fired out a chunky bet of 15,400. His opponent went into the tank for three minutes but eventually called the bet.

Ruane showed {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and ended up winning the pot.

Loosli Eliminates Finstein

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sylvain Loosli shoved all in with a stack worth 25,000 and the action folded to Michael Finstein in the big blind who called all in for his last 17,000 to create the following showdown:

Michael Finstein: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Sylvain Loosli: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Finstein was in bad shape to survive and a board {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} brought him no help. Loosli is now up to a stack worth 46,000.
