Welcome to Day 1 of Event #57: $1,000/$10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship. This a three-day event and a $10,000 buy-in, but with a ladies discount to $1,000 buy-in.

Last year's champion is Heidi May. She took home her first WSOP gold bracelet as well as $135,098 after outlasting 718 players. May already has two cashes this summer and will be looking to defend her title today. Deborah Worley-Roberts was the runner up last year for $83,459

Players will start with 5,000 in chips and will play ten 60-minute levels. There will be a 20-minute break every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 6, at approximately 5:40 p.m.
