Butler Can't Stop Margolin

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Louise Butler
Louise Butler

Timur Margolin opened early and Louise Butler three-bet all in on the cutoff. With no other takers, they turned over their cards and Butler was the dominant favorite.

Louise Butler: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Timur Margolin: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Butler only had two live cards to hit. The {a-Diamonds} wasn't one of them and it took away any runner-runner possibilities for Butler. The {6-Spades} river saw the pot go to Margolin and Butler made her way to the payouts desk.

Song Doubles Through Clinkscales

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jason Song moved all in for 57,000 and it folded to Rex Clinkscales in the small blind. Clinkscales reshoved all in for about 220,000 and Kenny Hallaert quickly folded his big blind.

Song turned over {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} but would need to improve against the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} of Clinkscales. The dealer fanned the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop and Song flopped two pair to take control of the hand.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and the {6-Clubs} river card improved Song to a full house to earn him the double-up.

Double Elimination for Engerman

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Benjamin Moon
Benjamin Moon

It was a clash of the premium hands just now, with three players committing all their chips preflop. John Orth moved all in first in middle position and Benjamin Moon shoved over the top from the small blind. Lawrence Engerman over called in the big blind and the trio spun their cards on their backs.

Lawrence Engerman: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Benjamin Moon: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
John Orth: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Moon and Orth were drawing pretty thin and the {7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board favored Engerman's ladies, sending both Moon and Orth to the rail. It sees the end of Moon's hopes to win two bracelets in this year's series, after taking down Event #13: Big Blind Antes $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.

Nguyen Wins the Flip

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Andy Debrito raised from under the gun and it folded to Nathan Nguyen in the small blind. Nguyen moved all in for 94,000 and Debrito called.

Nathan Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Andy Debrito: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

It was a classic coinflip situation with Nguyen at risk for his tournament life. Nguyen stood up from his chair and said, "One time!" just as the dealer fanned the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

Nguyen's "one time" did the trick as he spiked his ace in the window to take the lead. The turn {8-Spades} and river {8-Hearts} were no help to Debrito and Nguyen doubled his stack.

Cipiti Flushes Away Song

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Nick Cipiti and Jason Song were heads-up on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. Song checked and Cipiti bet 25,000 into a main pot of about 35,000. Song check-raised all in for 103,000 and, after giving it some thought, Cipiti called.

Song showed {6-Spades}{5-Clubs} for middle pair and an open-ended straight draw and was in great shape to double up against the {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} of Cipiti.

The dealer burned and turned the {j-Diamonds} and Cipitit picked up a diamond draw. The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Cipiti improved to a flush to earn the pot and eliminate Song.
