Lewis Leaves Open Ended

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

The player on the button limped and Romain Lewis raised to 20,000 from the small blind and Joon Park flatted in the big blind with button folding.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, Lewis checked and Park fired pot for Lewis's remaining 84,000 and Lewis called.

Joon Park: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Romain Lewis: {6-}{7-}{8-}{10-}

Park's top pair was in the lead against Lewi's open-ended straight draw and the {3-}{2-} run out did not improve his holding and he was eliminated in 24th place.

On another table at the same time, the PokerNews reporting team barely caught Karlo Gharabegian being eliminated as his aces were cracked by Cameron Tung.

O'Donnell Sends Two Home in 'Sick' Pot

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

The award for sickest PLO pot was just handed out to Matt O'Donnell and the rest of the table involved in what just went down at Table # 615.

Michal Maryška opened to 13,500 under the gun, Christopher Schneider called in the cutoff, and Matt O'Donnell flatted on the button.

Florian Duta saw an opportunity out of the small blind and three-bet pot to 72,500. All three of his opponents would eventually make the call.

All three.

A {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop fanned out and all of the chips went in the middle. Firstly, Duta said it was good enough and put the rest of his stack in. Maryška then raised pot which covered everyone else and Schneider and O'Donnell both put themselves at risk as well.

It took a few moments for the side pots to be arranged to give the rest of the players in the event ample time to surround the table.

The word 'sick' was used by just about everyone in the room.

Florian Duta: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Michal Maryška:{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Christopher Schneider: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Matt O'Donnell: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The {4-Hearts} on the turn gave O'Donnell a wheel and it held through the {10-Clubs} on the river to pick up two bounties from Schneider and Duta and also double the remainder of his stack through Maryška.

Chu Shoots Over a Million

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Hai Chu
Hai Chu

Catching the action on the river in a large pot with around 50,000 in the middle, the board read {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Romain Lewis led out for 40,500 in the small blind, and Chris Meyers called in the big blind.

Hai Chu then raised on the button to 160,000, Lewis thought for a few moments before making the call, and Meyers went into the tank. After a few minutes, the clock was called, and after the 10 second countdown began, Meyers mucked his hand.

Chu rolled over {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for queens full of fives and Lewis mucked as Chu scooped the monster pot and eclipses the one million mark.

Meyers was eliminated a few hands later.

Park Triples Up

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Joon Park opened in late position over a limp to 16,500. Igor Yaroshevskyy flatted on the button before Sebastian Dornbracht raised all in for 50,000. Park then re-shoved for his last 10,000 and Yaroshevskyy called to put both players at risk.

Joon Park: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Igor Yaroshevskyy: {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Sebastian Dornbracht: {A-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{k-Spades}{a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, giving Park Broadway and Yaroshevskyy a lower straight to gain Dornbracht's bounty and send him to the rail.
