Whittington Sends One Home

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

With a substantial pot already brewing and the board reading {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}, Blake Whittington bet 120,000 from the big blind into his lone opponent, Stephen Van Zutphen, who was on the button. Van Zutphen called.

The {6-Clubs} fell on the river and Whittington moved what looked like 115,000 into the middle. Van Zutphen only had about 60,000 remaining and he called after a bit of time in the tank. Whittington tabled {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a nine-high straight and it was good enough to win the pot.

Bohlman Surges into the Lead

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Following a raise from the button and Pierre Nasr's call in the small blind, Scott Bohlman potted out of the big and Nasr moved all in for just over 100,000 or so. Bohlman called and his {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} beat {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} on the board of {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Nasr was eliminated and Bohlman continued with over 1.1 million in chips.

Silver Takes It on the Turn

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

James Chen and Max Silver tangled while sitting in late positions. We picked up the action on the turn reading {A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} with around 100,000 in the pot.

Chen checked in the cutoff and Silver fired 70,000, leaving himself with roughly 90,000. Chen folded his hand after a while, mumbling "I'm not sure about this one." Silver took the pot and improved to 270,000 in chips.

Bambrick Hits a Double

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Max Silver raised and Ryan Bambrick three-bet 72,000 in position. Silver called and they went to the {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop where Silver checked and called when Bambrick jammed his last 50,000.

Bambrick: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Silver: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Bambrick was ahead with a pair but silver had a big draw. Silver, however, bricked both flush and straight draws on the {7-Diamonds} and {A-Diamonds} runout and Bambrick secured a double.

Bambrick Doesn't Believe

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

On the flop of {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Matt Stout potted for 132,000 out of the small blind and the action was on Ryan Bambrick in the cutoff. Bambrick had only about 145,000 back and his tournament life was on the line.

"I don't think you have anything over there," Bambrick said while tanking.

Then James Chen called the clock on Bambrick and he moved all in. Stout snap-called, announcing aces and a gutter.

Bambrick: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Stout: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Bambrick was drawing very slim and he couldn't catch up on the {J-Spades} turn nor the {2-Spades} river.

Bambrick was headed for the payouts at the same time as Anthony Zinno who busted simultaneously.

Blain Folds on the Flop

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Dermot Blain made it 18,000 in the cutoff and Fnu Navkiran Singh potted out of the big blind. Blain placed in extra 40,000 to match the raise and the dealer rolled out a flop of {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Singh shoved for 86,000 and Blain thought for a bit before folding.

Chen Gets a Full Double from Stout, Dispatches Silver as a Bonus

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
James Chen
James Chen

Matt Stout raised to 35,000 on the button, James Chen flatted in the small blind and Max Silver jammed for 107,000 out of the big blind. Both Stout and Chen raised and they came to the {J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop with 321,000 in the middle. Chen shoved for roughly 300,000 and Stout immediately called.

Silver: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Stout: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Chen: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Chen flopped the bottom set but he had to fade a diamond to lock the side pot while Silver could hope for a gutshot.

The {A-Clubs} turn gave both Stout and Silver chances for a full house but they weren't able to spike a good river as the {J-Spades} secured the whole monster pot for Chen. Silver was eliminated while Stout ended up heavily clipped. Chen is now among the top stacks with 850,000.

Negreanu's Run Halted by a Bad Beat

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu has shown several comebacks today, successfully doubling when he needed a chip-injection. It looked that Negreanu will do his trick once again as he got it in good with {A-}{A-}{K-}{5-} double suited against Ryan Lenaghan's {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The board was, however, cruel to the winningest player of all times as the {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} gave Lenaghan trips on the river to Eliminate Negreanu in the last level of the day.
