Katz Gives Kanit the Rope, but He Doesn't Hang Himself

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a flop of {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts}, action was four ways and Ben Lamb was first to act. He checked. Ramon Munoz checked and Cary Katz made it 36,000. Mustapha Kanit called while Lamb and Munoz both folded.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the {Q-Diamonds} river, Katz checked again.

"I'll give you a chance to bluff at it," Katz said.

Kanit did not, though. He checked it back. Katz showed down his {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and it was good enough to earn him the pot.

"You had kings?!" Lamb asked incredulously after the hand. "You were trying to talk me into going all in and you had kings? That's why you can't talk in a multi-way pot. That's cheating."
